About Dr Panagiotis Kosmas

Director of the MSc Education, Leadership and Management
My research expertise lies in Educational Technology, Embodied Cognition and Learning, Online Learning and Research Methods in Education. I work on effective teaching methodologies and strategies mediated by technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI), human-computer interaction, teaching effectiveness and learning, and language learning across all levels of education.
SHORT BIO
I am an Assistant Professor of Education at UoL and the Director of the MSc in Education, Leadership and Management. I hold a PhD in Educational Technology from the Cyprus Interaction Lab of the Cyprus University of Technology, an MEd in Pedagogical Sciences from Universita Degli Studi Roma III in Italy, an MA in New Technologies in Learning and Communication from the Cyprus University of Technology and a BA in Classical Studies from the National University of Athens in Greece. Before joining UoL, I worked as Head of Education at the CARDET research centre (2020-2023) and as a part-time lecturer in Distance Education at the School of Education of the University of Nicosia (2017-2023) and the Cyprus University of Technology (2016-2023). I have several years of experience in the professional development of teachers and in supporting schools and teachers in implementing innovative projects/courses/ideas in the classroom. Over the last 10 years, I have been an external collaborator at the Cyprus Pedagogical Institute, where I have offered training and workshops to in-service teachers related to integrating technologies in the classroom, innovative strategies for learning, increasing students' motivation and engagement, etc. As a researcher, I have published papers in international conferences and journals and have participated in numerous research projects.
